Livermore acupuncture

Discover the natural way to a healthier Life.

Discover health the natural way using Traditional Chinese Medicine. Chinese Medicine is a traditional medical system that has been used for well over 2,000 years. This system uses natural methods to enhance the body's own healing ability. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is the formal term for the combined therapies of Acupuncture, Chinese herbs, cupping and other healing modalities.

Good health is achieved by balancing energies in the body using these several methods. Serious side effects are avoided by this safe and effective holistic approach.

Frequently Asked Questions

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles into the patient's skin to stimulate specific acupuncture points for therapeutic purposes. Trained practitioners believe that an energy source called "Qi" (pronounced "chee") circulates in the body through 12 main pathways called meridians. The meridians contain locations called "acupuncture points." The insertion of acupuncture needles into the skin stimulates sensory nerves and muscles. Treatment involves very fine needles at selected acupuncture points.
Since very fine needles are used, this procedure does not hurt. In fact, it can take away a patient's pain and discomfort. Patients often find the treatment very relaxing.
Since acupuncture addresses the primary cause of symptoms, it yields long lasting results. A patient should receive some benefit even from one treatment. Successive treatments, spaced close together, build on previous results.
Only single-use, sterile, disposable needles are used in our practice. This eliminates the risk of any contamination.
Herbal Medicine is particularly useful in conjunction with acupuncture to enhance its effects and continue the healing between acupuncture treatments. Herbs in pill form are convenient and easy to take. Cooked herbal teas are prescriptions created for an individual patient, according to the patient's specific symptoms.
